“Let it Bee”: A Moment of Tranquility

There’s a unique serenity in observing the world from above. “Let it Bee” captures this perspective, inviting viewers into a world of vibrant and soft pastel colors along with gentle movement.

I chose to depict a vibrant bumble bee, a creature often associated with industriousness, in a moment of pure relaxation. Suspended above a field of shimmering, abstract flowers, the bee appears weightless and carefree. I used pearlescent gansai watercolors that lend a luminous quality to the wings, creating a sense of magic and wonder as they gently reflect the flowers below.

As I painted, I couldn’t help but be reminded of the catchy melody of the Beatles’ “Let It Be.” The song’s message of peace and acceptance perfectly aligns with the tranquil atmosphere of this piece.
